AIDA in the St. Margarethen quarry – Verdi’s powerful ode to the immortality of love
In summer 2024, “Aida”, a masterpiece by Giuseppe Verdi, will be on the programme of one of the most spectacular open-air stages in Europe, which is located in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Lake Neusiedl in Austria’s Burgenland. Premiere is on 10 July 2024.

With “Aida”, Giuseppe Verdi has created a grand opera about the immortality of love and, more than almost any other opera, Verdi’s masterpiece fits perfectly into the rugged rocky landscape of the St. Margarethen quarry.
